On Sunday, 14th December 2025, Phoenix Lodge was buzzing with festive spirit! With Beverley’s Christmas Market in full swing, many of us enjoyed a wander through the stalls before heading to the Lodge for an afternoon of fellowship, fun, and a few cheeky beer samples.
Our business meeting ran like clockwork under the steady hand of our Worshipful Master, W. Bro Alex McCallum, and the ever-efficient acting Director of Ceremonies, W. Bro Tim Brooksbank.
The Worshipful Master designate and Treasurer for the ensuing year were declared in favour of W Bro Paul Hillary and VW Bro William Glanville respectively, and we all look forward to the next chapter in the Lodges history.
The brethren voted and approved on purchasing a lodge banner, designed and proposed by W. Bro James Steele, which will showcase the lodges new theme and logo, a design approved by UGLE.
We also gave a warm Phoenix welcome to Bro Hammond, who joins us as a new member, following a successful ballot… here’s to many happy years together!
Once the formalities were done, it was time for the festive board, where partners, friends, and family joined in the merriment.
We had a selection of ales from Yorkshire Brewhouse which were enjoyed by all those present a short but sweet music quiz, hosted by the one and only DJ Starkey was thrown into the mix.
The raffle raised £250 which will go to Provincial Festival 2029
A big thank you must go to Pam and Julie who worked hard behind the scenes and produced a meal that was fully enjoyed and appreciated by all.
The room was filled with laughter, good company, and plenty of festive cheer, a perfect way to round off the year.

Our Next meeting is our Installation, which will be held on Saturday 14th February 2026… following a streamlined meeting we will be hosting a valentine’s dinner in the early evening, so pencil it in the diary!
We are also looking at a social event in January… so please watch this space for details…
From all of us at Phoenix Lodge—members, partners, and families—we wish you a Merry Christmas, a Happy New Year, and, in true Phoenix style, we raise a glass and say: “Cheers!”
